When Google offered shares to the public in 2004 the trickle down effect create a shoot up in real estate prices.

With more money, and more jobs being created, the wealthy snatched up property and Google had to lease larger business complexes for its employees.  While the effects may not be immediate, we can expect the same outcome with Facebook’s upcoming IPO.

Even though the downtown Menlo Park may not benefit as much, Facebook’s hiring may increase which would mean a larger facility or campus area with food and amenities for new employees.  And new employees with a larger income may lead to seller’s market since many will be looking to buy prime real estate in the area close to work.

What do you think?  Is it worth investing in Mountain View real estate?
