About Gina Takhtajian

With community and coffee being so central to the JohnHart Campus experience, it’s fortunate that our in-house barista Gina Takhtadjian has a deep understanding of both. Gina obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work, graduating as the youngest in her class. Her internship as a psychiatric social worker took her through two middle schools and an elementary school in the LAUSD school system. She spent years closely working with children with special needs, supported by her training in trauma-informed practices and experience as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist, providing them comprehensive care and security. Her experiences have reinforced her understanding that mental health is just as crucial as physical health.

Gina dreams of one day opening up her own coffee shop/community center hybrid, uniting her twin passions for social work and coffee. While her interests naturally draw her to mental health awareness, she honors her physical health as well, having played soccer competitively for 13 years. In her free time, she enjoys catching up with friends.
