2019: The Year in Review

2019 was a year of firsts for JohnHart Real Estate. In this final year of the 2010s decade, we opened our first office in the South Bay (Long Beach), became one of the first Real Estate brokerages to design + create our own CRM (Swarm), landed a monumental deal with Zillow, and organized our very first Walk For a Cause!

All of these things and more coalesced to make the past year very memorable for us, in every sense of the word. In 2019 we achieved over $1,000,000,000 in sales, and we have our sights set on even greater success in 2020.

It almost goes without saying that one of the biggest announcements of 2019 was our new relationship with the leading real estate and rental marketplace: Zillow. In early December 2019, we unveiled our new relationship with Zillow and Zillow Offers, wherein Los Angeles became the 22nd market for Zillow Offers — with JohnHart as the chosen exclusive broker partner. This new arrangement provides homeowners in LA County with a new option when it comes to selling their property. If you’d like to learn more about this new development, read more here.

JohnHart Real Estate one of the First Brokerages to Create a CRM

For those of you unfamiliar with the acronym, CRM is a customer relationship management software. The CRM we designed and created in-house is called Swarm, and it effectively makes us one of the first real estate brokerages in the country to develop and build our own! Since its launch on January 15, 2019, Swarm has helped our agents and staff do business more efficiently, more effectively, and more cohesively. This software integrates all of the most important aspects of our business model, allowing all JohnHart employees to be on the same page at all times and work as one towards our goals. Swarm enables us to build and maintain reliable relationships with our clientele on levels we could previously only imagine.

New Offices On the Horizon

We opened 2019 by relocating our Burbank office to a 7,000 sq. ft. building, complete with 18 offices and industrial modern design elements. The added space has allowed our staff and agents to better serve the Burbank community and its surrounding areas. 

In February we opened our 10th office at the prestigious World Trade Center tower in Long Beach. Watch the highlight video to see the excitement for yourself!

Though 2019 was chock-full of excitement for our firm, the events we have on the horizon are perhaps even more exhilarating. Our Sherman Oaks office will soon be expanding, and we have plans in the works for a brand new office in the Mid-Wilshire district. This project is one I’m personally very excited about, as it as the potential to provide a brand new direction for JohnHart.

On Saturday, October 19th, 2019, JohnHart Real Estate came together to raise money for 15 deserving charities and organizations. 900 people showed up to walk with us, and we raised $118,242. Those numbers are even more incredible when you consider that we did it in under 40 days! From our initial meetings in September to 10-19, we put together this inaugural event that proved to be a smashing success. Words can barely express how grateful I am for all the hard work put in by our staff, agents, sponsors, and the charities themselves to make this event possible. In March 2019, we were lucky enough to host New York Times’ bestselling author Robert Greene, who discussed the power of influence and its impact on our professional and personal lives. He delved into his latest book, The Laws of Human Nature, which explores the process of detaching ourselves from our own emotions and mastering self-control, among other concepts. An additional August event was our Paintball outing, an event tied which pitted our Listing Olympics finalists against one another in a shootout of epic proportions. See the Q3 Top 25: click here

The 2019 Realtor Race was one of our most heated, contentious races to date, and it all culminated on December 14th, 2019. Marlin Dginguerian secured the top agent award for the Race, and Game of Homes was our winning team.

Our exponential growth as a real estate company spells great things for 2020, underscored by the renewal of both our Valencia and Palmdale office leases, each for the next five years.

Last but certainly not least, Raffi Soualian earned Agent of the Year honors and Linda Ojeda was our 2019 Person of the Year!

Ultimately we have had a very fruitful, prosperous year, and we look forward to the new year (and decade) with eager anticipation. Please join me in saying “Thank you 2019,” and Hello 2020!
