Watching the super bowl has now become a tradition in most households; some even believe it’s a holiday and should be celebrated. In the United States, football is considered the #1 sport with more fans than any other sport nationwide!  Whether you are a devout fan or completely uninterested in football there are many fun ways to participate in all the hype surrounding this event.

After all a super bowl party gives you another chance to spend the day with friends & family without all the stress and formality of the traditional holidays.  So seize the day and enjoy eating sinfully delicious food while watching funny commercials and of course the game!

If it’s your first time hosting a Super Bowl party, here are a few tips and tricks to help create a memorable event! The must haves include a big screen TV, finger foods (the essentials: chips/salsa, hot wings and pizza), beer/beverages, team/football memorabilia & decorations, and of course the fans!

Ideas for a successful party:five steps to great superbowl party

1. Make it a potluck and have all your guests provide an easy to eat dish everyone can munch on while still focusing on the game

2. Have everyone dress up in a football theme or wear team jerseys

3. It’s all about the beer

• Choose beers that are brewed in the same city/state as the competing teams

• Have your own beer tasting in between plays (try beers you don’t regularly buy)

• Freeze your beer mugs before guests arrive so you can serve cold beer all day long

4. Create a football trivia game to play during half time or before the game starts (make a list of famous half time performers and see how many your guests can come up with)

5. Have guests write down their score predictions before the game begins, the winner will get a fun prize (consider buying $10 worth of lottery “scratchers”, that way it’s not a predictable or expensive gift, who knows, maybe they’ll win big)

6. Don’t forget about seating! Arrange couches and chairs to give guests an optimal view of the big game and make sure there are enough seats for everyone you’re expecting.

With all these helpful tips, you’re bound to have a party your guests will continue to talk about for years to come!
