Want a Piece of Ryan Reynolds’…Sunset Strip Home?

Ryan Reynolds is selling his Sunset Strip home.

Actor Ryan Reynolds, who starred in movies like ‘Green Lantern’, ‘X-Men’, and ‘Definitely Maybe’, purchased the Ranch style house above the Sunset Strip back in October 2007 for $1.7 million.  But before we talk about the property we need to take a quick walk down memory lane.

Ryan was engaged to long time girlfriend Alanis Morissette.  In the early months of 2007 they split up and went their separate ways.  Shortly after the breakup the handsome actor laid his eyes on the beautiful actress Scarlett Johansson and the two were a couple (a very good looking couple I may add).

In May 2007 Johansson purchased a historic Spanish style house for $7 million in the Outpost Estates area of Los Angeles, Ca.  Six months after the actress purchased her home Reynolds turned around to do the same thing.  He purchased a single story house high above the Sunset Strip on Carmen Crest Drive for $1,715,000.

Now here is the part you will enjoy, Reynolds’ new home has amazing views and one amazing view in particular is the view of Scarlet Johansson’s house!  Yes.  The actor (slash boyfriend at the time) could stand on his back patio of his new home that sits above the Sunset Strip and look past the canyons and see Johansson’s Outpost Estates house.

Was this on purpose?  Well, since I wasn’t there when the actor decided to buy the home and I don’t have either of their phone numbers to ask we’ll never know I guess.

The couple got engaged in May 2008 and four months later were married in September of the same year in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The show stopping hot couple’s marriage was sadly short lived.  They made a statement in December 2010 that they were getting divorced, which was finalized in July 2011.

In February 2010 Johansson listed her Outpost Estates home on the market with an asking price of $4,995,000.  It sold at a $3 million loss in June 2010 for $4 million to television producer Matt Tarses.

Reynolds has tried to sell his Sunset Strip home in previous years but was unsuccessful.  His first attempt was back in 2009 when he put it on the market with an asking price of $1.9 million and pulled the listing six months later for unknown reasons.  The subsequent attempt was in July 2011 with a lower asking price of $1,690,000.  The house has been on the market since and the asking price has been reduced again to its current price tag of $1,559,000.

The home is 1,789 square feet big and has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.  If you would like to be Matthew Perry’s neighbor then you’re in luck because Reynolds’ house is directly across from the sitcom star’s home.

Some of the features are vaulted wood beam ceilings, fireplace, wine fridge, and solar heating.  The living and dining room have distressed hardwood floors.  There are sliding doors that lead to patios and Mexican paver tiled terraces that offer views of the canyons and Hollywood Reservoir.

The kitchen is a galley style kitchen with white cabinets, white tile back splash, and stainless steel appliances.
